Laura Ortiz-Ravick, MA Laura Ortiz-Ravick serves as the Director of National Outreach and Health Equity Partnerships at The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). In this role, she provides strategic leadership and oversight for national outreach initiatives that address disparities in blood cancer care and improve access to education, treatment, and support for underserved communities. She oversees the development of partnerships with national organizations engaged in health equity initiatives, with a particular emphasis on addressing barriers to care and disparities affecting vulnerable populations, and the national engagement and training for Spanish-speaking Community Health Workers (Promotores de Salud), integrating culturally responsive educational materials and outreach strategies to strengthen community connections and patient outcomes. Prior to joining LLS, Laura held leadership roles at Montefiore Health System, where she developed outreach strategies across departments, including the NCI-designated Montefiore Einstein Center for Cancer Care. She led systemwide efforts to enhance visibility, strengthen community education, and expand access to high-quality cancer care through Montefiore’s Community Oncology Program. Laura earned her graduate degree from New York University and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) at the University of Illinois Chicago, where her research focuses on partnership development between national advocacy organizations and Community Health Workers to improve cancer care access and community engagement. |
